Days of the week

The days of the week that we use today were adopted about 400 AD. The names of the days originated in mythology, your task is to create a set of new days that represent how you feel about the "days of the week". The main idea is to make the days sound more "modern". Name the days and then find an image or create one before the end of the class that describes each day. Make sure that you pass this in before the end of the week.

Photo Project "movement"

The idea of this project is to use your camera to take a picture of an object that is moving in a creative way. Remember the main idea of your photograph should be to tell a story in an interesting way. Quality as always if a must and please bring in all photos from your camera.

Fixing an image (Global Problems)

This is a tutorial that goes through the steps how to fix common global problems that occur in almost all photographs. These steps should be used before you pass in any files.

Frozen Photo Assignment

Photo Challenge: Frozen

Whether you’re snowed in or have to raid your fridge to find some ice, for this photo challenge capture something that’s frozen. You can interoperate this photo assignment in any way that you like, but the picture must be original work. Please remember that quality and creativity of your image is the most important thing.

INDESIGN LESSON

InDesign is a program that is used for doing page layout when you have completed the graphics and other placement objects in Photoshop or Illustrator. The following lesson deals with the basic parts of the program which will allow the user to create a simple layout. This lesson includes placing text, images, styles and tabs which should give the user the basic idea of how to work the program. This lesson can be completed in one class and you should be able to then work on the next project which will integrate all of the creative programs that we have used up to this point.

Picture Assignment (The Romantic Landscape)

Nineteenth century Romanticism was a loose movement spanning many of the arts. In painting. it exalted the beauty of nature particularly wild landscapes and used it to inject feeling and significance. Thomas Cole and the Hudson River School showed the northwest Unites States as grand and inspiring, while in Germany, Caspar David Friedrich showed bleak and mountainous landscapes that somehow conveyed a feeling of hope.


Take a picture of a landscape that is in the style of the above description. You may want to do some research on this type of photography to get an idea of what type of style you will be using.
